The Mighty Avengers #20

21 November 2009 381 views 2 Comments

Although I have completed the Secret Invasion miniseries in May 2009, only recently I have the chance to continue reading the Mighty Avengers series. Talk about time management? I used to complain about my staff time management skills and now I, myself is doing the same. But this is my hobby. Comics reading is during my free time, when and where I feel like it, even though if it is about 9 months late

OK, back to Mighty Avengers 20. I really like the part at Janet Van Dyne’s funeral where Hank Pym comes up to say some words. There is silence at first, but then he lashes out at Tony Stark and blame him for everything “You killed Captain America, you killed Janet, but there you are! Who’s next Tony?” He would continue if not for Thor whom cut short his speech, say a few words and fly the doctor away. “Come, doctor. We shall mourn together in private.” You could really feel the emotions in the artwork.

Anyway, I am disappointed on how Bendis handled Janet’s death/funeral. He should have dedicated more pages in her memory like the way he handles Pym’s grief. That was marvelous, however when comes to this issue, it still goes down on who you like better. If you’ve have never liked Hank Pym, then this is disappointing.
