Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight

Installed it and have played 2 levels of Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight. One thing for sure is that this is not the same C&C which I grew up with since 15 years ago. The game play is a bit different where you don’t need to harvest Tiberium anymore.

Since you can’t harvest, you are give command points and with this points, you build your army. Since it is limited, you can only build a certain number of units at any given time. You have to be careful what to build and the best way is based it on the enemy. Build some basics and then build based on what they send you. In the 2nd level, at first you only need the Zone Troopers, but when they defended with aerial units, you need the Zone Defenders.

With limited units, you can’t overwhelm your enemies anymore. No more fun of sending everything to your enemy. This time you have to plan it a bit.

There’s no need to build buildings anymore. Everything you need could be built from your MCV and you can take it anywhere you go. Unpack it to build your army and then pack and move it to a new place.

Graphically, nothing spectacular and I don’t see much different from the old ones. Above is the screen capture from my PC. Cutscenes are also much shorter this time. Maybe a budget cut?

If you have been a loyal fan, then you shouldn’t miss this. If you are new to C&C, maybe you should avoid this game. There’s nothing new.

Have Something To Say ?

  1. Wow…That’s crazy. This was the first RTS I ever played, and still holds a special place in my heart today. @Exrecaller, you know it isn’t exactly DRM right, it is different, yeah it will kick you off if you aren’t connected, but it isn’t a form of DRM it is like if you were playing World Of Warcraft and it kicked you off.

Meh. I never really cared for Red Alert. Good to know the new one is bad at least.
