PS3 – Going Down in Prices and Size

The PS3 has evolved to a real total entertainment center that also happens to play games and now Sony is cutting it prices further and introducing a slimmer version.

Sony has dropped the price of a Playstation 3 by US$100. The company decided to slash the price of the PS3 in hopes of boosting sales ahead of the important holiday season. The 80-gigabyte Playstation 3 will now cost US$299. The 160 gigabyte PS3 console will now cost US$399. All price cuts apply worldwide.

The slimmer, lighter model with a 120GB hard drive will be launched in early September with a price tag off US$299. For details and hands on review on the latest PS3 slim model, check out engadget review.
