G.I. JOE The Rise of Cobra Movie Trailer in HD

31 August 2009 867 views 15 Comments

The story revolves around a elite military unit known as Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity (G.I. JOE), which is a hi-tech, international force of special operatives that takes on an evil organization led by a notorious arms dealer.

The big screen adaptation was directed by Stephen Sommers and stars Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Christopher Eccleston, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Byung Hun Lee, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols, Ray Park, Said Taghmaoui, Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans and Dennis Quaid.

I’ve watched it and will review it later. I know this is a bit late, but better late than never.

Joseph Gordon Levitt’s portrayal of Cobra Commander is not as grandiose as the Cobra Commander of the TV Series (and certainly not as silly and funny) but he does a good job, showing a more sinister side to the commander but not over-the-top.

I saw the movie and wasn’t too pleased with it. As an origin story, it failed because the threat was too real for the type of mission/scenario the joes had to deal with. As an adaptation of the cartoon series, the actor who played Duke was too young and uninspiring.
