Not only comics being converted to movies, some of the popular games are also being converted to the big screen. This feature film adaptation of the popular computer game about a sword-wielding prince, Jake Gyllenhaal, who teams with a mysterious princess, Gemma Arterton, race against dark forces to safeguard an ancient dagger capable of releasing the Sands of Time – a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is by the same team that brought the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy to the big screen – Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films. The movie is based on the video game of the same title, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
Rumours heard, should Prince of Persia manage to make it big at the box office, it will be turned into a Pirates of the Caribbean type franchise.
Theatrical Release: Friday, May 28, 2010.
