I have not finish watching the set i bought earlier, but the new Macross series, Macross Frontier is already out and currently showing in Japan.

I have watched the first 7 episodes. The anime is mix of mecha battles, romantic drama and it seems to emphasize a lot on songs. The same elements as the original Macross. Even the first few episodes seems similar to the original. Comparing it with the old Robotech, Macross Frontier has been given a total facelift. The animation is flawless and the fight sequences are fantastic. After watching the 7th episode and if the series continue to produce high quality storyline and visuals, Macross Frontier will be like what the original is now. A legend.

Of course, to mecha fans.

I wanted to continue this last night, but then .. the post would be very long and you people would get bored. So I kept it short and this is the 2nd part on Robotech. As what i’ve mentioned previously, I read comics from Marvel and DC. Non from the Manga type but I watch Anime, funny isn’t it. Maybe I should buy a few Manga titles after this. Anyway, for Anime, most of my favorites are the mecha type like Robotech, Gundam and Transformers (one of the reason why my son has a few of those figurines, and again .. thanks to the money from blogging )

Robotech was shown on TV (RTM) when I was a kid, and I was an avid follower of that series. Somehow, I can’t remember exactly why, I was not able to watch every episodes and also didn’t actually finish watching it. Only through my friends, I knew how it ended. One thing I remembered was telling myself to get it if it is available (and if I got the money).

When I started working, Anime was not as popular as at this moment and it was difficult to find an Anime title at an ordinary video shop. It was very expensive and that stop me from getting it at that time. That was 10 years ago.

Waited … waited .. and waited .. until last night, he .. he .. he and I did feel the ‘teruja‘ feeling the minute I walk out from the shop with Robotech on my hand. I will finish this first before bringing it back home for my son . I bought Transfomers Armada complete set last week. That will take him a while to finish.

No, you can’t find any download of the popular mecha anime series here.

Now that NuffNang has paid me, I spend the money yesterday to buy the complete set of the Robotech TV Series, plus one of the movie titled Robotech : The Shadow Chronicles. Actually, the shop only got these 2 sets at that time, I might buy all if they have them

After visiting my dad at the hospital yesterday, I dropped by to Sungai Petani’s newest shopping complex – The Village Mall, since it was only about 1KM from my house. Fixed my Nike, had a very late dinner and was just looking around, window shopping. Until I reached this particular shop and it sells quite a list of animes.

I was looking for Robotech for quite a while but the Anime Tech shop in One Utama was selling the set for about RM250. I could get myself the pirated version but it was dubbed in Mandarin . I would buy if it is in Japanese with English sub but not Mandarin. So, when the shop told me that it has the complete set, episodes 1-85 and for a price of less than RM100, I didn’t think twice and even asked them to add the movie. All original .
Talk about impulse shopping!

But hey, that’s what I have been doing with the money I made from Comics Myx dot com. While I invest part of my pay and my project allowances on my ‘needs’ and my future, I will spend the money I made from blogging on all my ‘wants’. Maybe I should post about all the things I’ve bought with blogging money .

Now that Iron Man will be out in May, my eldest son has already made an appointment to watch it with me, and after seeing the teasers and trailers, I think this movie is going to be a great one. After Transformers, I’m sure she will tag along again.

Read about the movie here. Since it is not out yet, I can’t actually do a review , but i have one wish though. If they are planning for Iron Man 2, I’m looking forward to see the New Avengers, the team (like X-Men and Fantastic Four) Iron Man is attached too. It will be fun and I would finally be able to watch all my superheroes in a movie. Talk about a dream come true. Anyway, New Avengers? That’s only a part of Iron Man, be prepared to hear about S.H.I.E.L.D and maybe, Scarlet Witch as well. I still buy comics, but not as often as last time. After the Marvel Civil War series, a lot has change. Not only there’s a lot of titles but with crossovers and mini series, being a father and a working adult, it’s a bit difficult to keep up. I am only following certain titles now.

Things About Me That You Didn’t Know Actually, I am answering a tag from Fahmishah. And you just read about the first one that is myself being a comic collector . Others include :

• My old IC has only 3 numbers – 2, 5 and 3, and there are 5 2s.
• I drink coffee at the office but prefer tea at home, chrysanthemum tea to be exact.
• My father competed in the Olympics, representing Malaysian in the 4 X 100m relay team, but I am not interested in athletics at all.
• When I complained to my dad that my daughter’s milk is very expensive, he told me that they fed me S26.
• I can drive since form 5 but only took my driving license at the age of 24.

I think, instead of 8, I just do 6 and I am tagging topo, as promised, and also due to the Iron Man trailer I got from his blog and the person who made it to my top commentators list last month, East43Street.

Anyone else interested? For the record, I read/collect US comics, but I don’t like Manga, however I love anime very much.
