The company developed its app in conjunction with comiXology, which has developed digital comics apps for a number of comic book publishers, including Marvel.

Titles made available as of Wednesday include Batman: Hush, Green Lantern: Rebirth, Fables: Legends in Exiles and Planetary: All Over the World and Other Stories, with prices ranging from 99 cents to $2.99 per issue. While most of these are backlist titles already available in print, the miniseries Justice League: Generation Lost, is being made available day and date with the print version at the same price point of $2.99.

DC and comiXology also announced that a portion of the revenues from digital comics sales will be used for a Retailer Affliate Program that will benefit owners of brick-and-mortar comic book shops. They also announced that comic book creators also will benefit from and be paid for sales of the digital comics featuring their work.

Last month we saw that 2 comic titles making more than $2M in auctions. Earlier it was Action Comics No. 1, which features the first appearance of Superman, sold online for a record-breaking $1m. The 1938 edition of Action Comics No. 1 with cover showing superhero lifting car sets record for comic book sale. The issue has a cover featuring Superman lifting a car and it originally cost 10 cents.

Well, everyone though it was a record, but three days later a 1939 comic book in which Batman makes his debut, Detective Comics No. 27, sold for a total of $1,075,500.

Although Marvel is getting more Hollywood spotlights than DC Comics, but the later is giving more value to its collectors. So, should I switch to buy more of DC instead of Marvel. Ha.. not necessarily. Reading and collecting comics is a hobby, and I am not making money from it, so I am sticking to what I like. Anyway, I think I have a few old No. 1 in my collection. Maybe I should get it rated, who knows, that could be a down payment for my new car.

That’s right, Gossip Girl star Blake Lively has officially been cast as the female lead, Carol Ferris opposite Ryan Reynolds in the Warner Bros.’ live-action adaptation of the Green Lantern.

Martin Campbell will direct. Production is expected to begin in March with a release date set for June 17, 2011.

Just weeks ago there were rumors that several actresses were in the running for the part – Blake Lively, Jennifer Garner, Diane Kruger, Eva Green and Keri Russell. She’s kind of lucky to get the role. One thing is that she’s quite young for it. Another thing is, she’s against other actress who have better track records than her. Jennifer Garner played Elektra before. She’s is considered a pro (hah!) in comics to live-action adaptation type of movies. Good luck to Ms Lively, I love her in Gossip Girl, I just hope she will perform in Green Lantern.

Green Lantern is based on the DC Comics serial about an ordinary man chosen by an alien to receive an energy ring that can be used to protect the planet. Carol Ferris is the love interest of Hal Jordan and the daughter of an aerospace mogul.

In Batman: Arkham Asylum, the player plays as Batman as he delivers The Joker to Arkham Asylum. There, the Joker set a trap and now controls Arkham Asylum. The release date is stated as June 9th, 2009.

The trailer looks great, but somehow, after watching the Dark Knight, the jokers laugh doesn’t sound menacing enough. I prefer the way Heath Ledger did it.
