So … just now, I sorted all those for sale and separate them in a separate bin. I actually forgotten what was Dark Avengers #1 about. Read it for 1 last time.
Dark Avengers #1
The Skrulls tried to invade earth using their shape-shifting ability to seed mistrust among the Avengers and other heroes. All looked lost, but when Thor summoned both the humans and Skrulls to a battle on the fields of central park, The avengers, other heroes and villains fought as one against the Skrulls.
Norman Osborn, the green goblin, the leader of the Thunderbolts, made the kill-shot and took out the Skrull Queen.
In the aftermath, Tony Stark took all the blame for the invasion and was stripped of his roles as leaders of The Avengers and the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Norman Osborn was appointed to replace Stark.
The Dark Avengers #1 is all about Norman Osborn’s New Avengers, or should we say the Dark Avengers.
Norman Osborn approaches Moonstone (Karla Sofen) while she is meditating to take over as Ms Marvel. He also introduced the name H.A.M.M.E.R. as the replacement for S.H.I.E.L.D., no details about it on the first issue.
He gave Venom something to eat that makes him ‘normal’ and Venom takes over The Amazing Spider-Man. Daken Akihiro takes his father’s place as Wolverine, Bullseye as Hakweye. Marvel Boy is Captain Marvel. Ares, the God of War, and the Sentry is still around. Norman Osborn is the Iron Patriot.
Deodato’s artwork is solid, you can see that although the Dark Avengers are wearing heroes costumes, but they are not.
Anyway, the Dark Avengers was published in 2009, but you could still get the Dark Avengers by Brian Michael Bendis: The Complete Collection Paperback. This paperback collects Dark Avengers (2009) #1-6, #9-15 and Annual #1.
If you just want #1, then check out the link to VintageComicsMalaysia above.
